Teatro Due Mondi
We were born in 1979 as a “group theater” and since then we are engaged in a continuous artistic research aimed at the construction of a “cultured” and “popular” theater (both for indoor and outdoor spaces), rooted in the traditions, but capable of speaking a universal language, accessible to everyone, albeit with different possible readings, attentive to grasping the urgencies of contemporary society. One of the objectives is the creation of a new audience through shows capable of creating a dialogue with the public with fewer opportunities (foreign residents, public far from cultural places and socially weak, young people). In these years we have our shows and projects all over the world, from Northern Europe to South America, from Asia to Eastern Europe (more than 4,000 performances in theaters and squares in 36 countries on 4 continents).

The need to build a human society founded on respect for the other accompanies us. Our work is made of different paths: production of shows, laboratories for actors and non-actors, organization of multidisciplinary projects. Our productions can be subdivided into three main groups: street and street performances, theater for the young generations and shows for adults. The theater is a place of artistic research, and on this basis we base our investigation on the techniques of performing arts, on the universal principles that underlie the art of the actor, on the languages that create communication. But theater is also, and today it must reinforce its specificity, the privileged place where art becomes the relationship between man and man. This continuous going in and out of the theater, this movement towards real life and the world in which we live is an identity that belongs to us strongly and which we continually seek, starting from the masters of the past, in order to define and strengthen it in the present.
